Antarctica

Ride for Their Lives Antarctica came about as a result of many conversations between family friends Matt and Heather about climate change, air pollution and health, whilst cycling together, bike packing and after parkruns. So when Matt joined the British Antarctic Survey as a marine biologist this was the perfect opportunity.

I’m participating in the Ride for Their Lives event in Antarctica because I believe in the inseparable link between human health and the health of our planet. I want to stand in solidarity with children and communities whose wellbeing is already affected by air pollution and climate change, echoing the mission that inspired this movement. By riding in one of the world’s harshest environments, I hope to highlight both the urgency of healthy air, the climate crisis and the responsibility we all share to act. This matters to me because protecting the planet is ultimately about protecting lives, and I believe we can use our collective voice to push for real, lasting change.
