This event was the first of its kind in Australia and was coordinated by North Metropolitan Health Service. It was a collaboration project across 6 divisions of WA Health. Aimed at using the trusted voices of our health care professionals to advocate and raise awareness to the climate and environmental crisis and the carbon emission output of our healthcare system. The ride took WA Health staff from our starting location of Victoria gardens in East Perth Near to the WA Department of Health head office along the swan river to the QEII medical centre and Sir Charles gairdner hospital as well as Perth Children’s Hospital. The ride has three options for participation, advanced riding, gentle fun ride and walk.
We acknowledge the Noongar people as the traditional owners and custodians of the land on which we work, and pay respect to their elders both past and present. North Metropolitan Health Service recognises, respects and values Aboriginal cultures as we walk a new path together.
