London Clean Air Wins Ride

Collaborative 3 day ride to support some of the structural changes we need to reduce air pollution and increase active travel. Over 3 days 13-15th May with start and finish points based on the Elizabeth line and rail lines that allow fully assembled bikes.

Following the successful Newcastle CAZ ride we rode around the proposed perimeter of the London Ultra Low Emission Zone (ULEZ) expansion to demonstrate the support of healthcare providers for the structural changes required to protect our patients from ambient air pollution. The ride took three days and we used the Elizabeth line and other trains that allow fully assembled bikes to get home each night. We got some decent coverage in the press and formed many more relationships that will strengthen our resolve to speak the truth.

In addition to the ULEZ, we examined other ways to increase safe active travel, PM2.5 from tyre and road wear, and PM2.5 from wood burning stoves.
