Aldersbrook Primary School children all received an Outstanding grade having far Exceeded Expectations with close to 200 children safely cycling and scooting in 3 groups for the inaugural Aldersbrook Bike Bus. The bike shed, usually pretty full, overflowed 3 times over and bikes were stacked up around the entire playground. The children certainly enjoyed their safe ride to school in 3 groups and several parents talked about self organising a regular event. Thanks for the support from LCC, RCC, Spokeshed and Fully Charged Bikes. But in the end the reason for this stunning success is the school ethos around the environment that allows children to grow and learn. They recognise the science that clean air, active travel and nature is what caring for children entails, not locking them in a metal box to ferry them to and from school. RFTL, RCC and LCC are happy to support parent led rides with any advice, training or flouro required.
