Ride for Their Lives returns to Glasgow

Ride for Their Lives returns to Glasgow

In 2021, RFTL reached Glasgow on the eve of COP26 to raise awareness of the impact of air pollution and climate change on child health. And to urge policy makers to act. This year, RFTL returned to Glasgow ahead of the RCPCH annual conference, where climate change was a focus and the work of the Climate Change Working Group will be showcased.

A group of paediatricians rode 27 miles (43 km) starting from Falkirk High railway station to the Scottish Event Campus. They cycled a gentle pace on Sustrans route 754 along the (tarmacked) canal towpath, allowing pauses to take in the glorious scenery, for refreshments and - crucially - conversation to inspire climate action.

Ride leaders: Chinthika Piyasena, Lucy Reynolds and Heather Lambert.

The next day they spoke at the conference.
