RCPCH Conference Birmingham 2024

Birmingham welcomed the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health to their annual conference in Birmingham in March 2024. We had a wonderful joyful and well attended city centre event in collaboration with local cycling and sustainable travel groups. Riders joined from all around the UK.

Birmingham welcomed the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health to their annual conference in Birmingham in March 2024. Many of our children live in poor circumstances in an environment that creates a lifelong trajectory of poor health. They are denied the basic human rights of being able to be physically active and to breath clean air. This needs to change. We marked the Conference and their demand for child health to improve - with communities, sports and biking clubs getting on their bikes in and around our city on Sunday the 24th of March.

Riders from London, Leeds, Derby, Northampton, Manchester and Newcastle joined cyclists gathering in the city centre between 2pm and 2.30pm who then rode a short loop led by children fishing in Centenary Square at 3.00pm where there was a brief address from Camilla Kingdom, the President of the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health.
